• Digital Work Flow: Web or Print? Digital and Film: Same and different?
• Learn my Camera
• Shooting a Digital Photograph: What makes a good photo?
• Photographer Hardware needs: Digital Camera, Lens, Flash and Battery, Flash Diffuser, Light Meter, Laptop with WiFi, Portable Light Stand
• Homework: Read your Camera Manual and Locate key elements on camera body; Shoot no more than 10 outside digital photos, varying sutter and fstop.

Class 2:

• Students connect camera to Apple computer, and import emages;
• Working with Digital: Importing Images using iPhoto; JPEG; Pixels
• Digital Darkroom: Viewing and Editing Software: IPhoto, Photoshop.
• Intro to Photoshop;
• Review Homework in Photoshop
• Shooting in Digital: Challenges; How much light in Digital? low light: as portrait, inside buildings, night; depends on purpose of image;
• Homework: Take a low light digital photo;

Class 3

• Go through digital work flow; view, download, edit, save, send
• Review Homework: Work at Transfer, edit, save
• Questions; Homework

Class 4

• Studio Shoot: Shoot Photograph; download to Computer; edit with photoshop;
• Homework

Class 5

• Mia: Printing your photographs
• Review of Class; Questions
• Using the web: How to get your photos on the web

Class Objective: By the end of the 5 week class, the Student will be fluent in Digital Photography terminology, and understand the differences and similarities between using film and recording digitally; Additionally, the student would have a basic understanding of each of the steps that produce a digital photograph: Digital camera techniques, Viewing Software, Image Editing Software (iPHOTO & Photoshop), and Web Transfer Software(Email and FTP).
